Its not often you get to see, hear, and meet a leading flamenco guitarist / composer who happens to be highly regarded by other flamenco and classical musicians as well.

Cory Pesaturo – Yasmine Azaiez

Friday, February 3 @ 8:00 pm

My first instrument was the accordion . My dad played it and raised a family , bought two houses , and toured the country with various acts like Bob Hope, Xavier Cugat, played TV and film soundtracks and even appeared in a film with Doris Day and Rock Hudson before settling down to more local gigs at

Disneyland and the local famous Cigo’s Restaurant right here in San Pedro!

To me the accordion was not cool or hip, it was not Elvis ( even though dad worked with him as well ) and it was not  the Beatles.  So I gave up .

Fast forward to 2023 and a fellow named Cory Pesaturo, a multiple award winning accordionist that not only was raised playing the ” standards”, but through the use of modern music technology has brought the accordion into the 21st century. Not only a great player,  He has appeared on television, tours the world and currently performs with Yasmine Azaiez, a world class violinist / singer originally from Tunisia .

Together they form a unique blend of traditional accordion , world music, East European, jazz, pop, and funk with Yasmine’s beautiful rich voice , skillful violin, and Cory’s accordion mastery .

I’ll rate this a show not to miss..

I wish my dad could hear this guy. I think he’d be pleased that the accordion is back to being a cool and “hip” instrument.  Hear them for yourself on Friday, February 3rd at 8pm.

Mike Keneally & Beer For Dolphins with Travis Larson Band

Saturday, January 14 @ 8:00 pm

There are many great and popular guitarists, singers and composers that the vast majority of people have heard of or are household names. Then there are some exceptional , gifted musicians that are insanely great, and make you wonder…

“How have I not heard of this guy before?”

Mike Keneally falls into the latter category.

As someone whose first professional music job was playing guitar and keyboards in Frank Zappa’s band, to the consummate musician he has become, you could say he’s done just about everything a musician can do.

He was Frank Zappa’s “Stunt Guitarist”. He spent 6 years as Steve Vai’s guitarist and keyboard player and toured with Joe Satriani and Dethklok.

He did orchestral performances with Holland’s Metropole Orchestra, a television special for PBS ( Zappa’s Universe  for which he won a Grammy Award ), a solo Piano album of Steve Vai guitar solos, a current prog rock project with Prog-ject, and of course his own band “Beer For Dolphins“.

Beer for Dolphins is a treat for the ears and ground breaking in the many twists and turns that some of his music takes.

They are no strangers to San Pedro, as they have appeared before here at Alvas Showroom as well as the original Sacred Grounds Coffee shop/ music venue.

His ability to simultaneously play guitar and keyboard solos and parts is mind boggling, and the music he creates speaks for itself.  My personal favorite is the CD called Sluggo.

With many CDs under his belt , Mike Keneally and Beer For Dolphins is one show not to be missed.

For two days, January 14th and 15th, Beer for Dolphins will be gracing the Alvas Showroom stage once again, and will be sharing the bill with rock fusion trio The Travis Larson Band .

Tickets for Saturday’s 8pm, and Sunday’s 4pm shows are available through the Alvas Showroom website .
We hope to see you here supporting these incredible artists!
