The Garden District Band is a modern jazz piano-trio to nine-member band (trio on this event). They perform Hansen’s original compositions with highly improvised and groove-based Bossa Novas, ballads, funk, Mardi Gras, blues, and jazz waltz stylings along with classic selections from 100 years of jazz compositions in a tight and highly improvised presentation. Their tenth CD (Garden District Trio: Upward) reached No. 72 on the JazzWeek Charts and is still receiving airplay nation-wide.
